soft steel
This sculpture is inspired by a mountain named Kirkjufell, pictured here together. Located in west Iceland.
The shape of this sculpture mirrors the mountain, changing as you move around it. It challenges the notion of solidity and permanence versus fluidity and motion. Typically used in structural and static settings, steel here reveals its flexible and malleable properties. The warped mirror finish invites viewers to move around the sculpture, engaging with it within the space. This interaction offers fresh perspectives on reality, oneself, and the surrounding environment.
