Steel, volcanic sand, speakers
This sculpture is inspired by midnight fissure eruptions on the Reykjaness Peninsula. Paying homage to the untainted power of a volcanic eruption, acknowledging the raw and violent nature of earth, the sights and sounds of the rebirth of land.
This work was made at a residency collaboration between the Royal College of Art and the University of East London.
